The invasion of Ukraine by the Russian armed forces on February 24, 2022, has revealed the archaic structure of the United Nations Security Council in guaranteeing the security of its member states and people from military attack by one of its permanent members threatening to use nuclear weapons, President Zelensky of Ukraine in his speech to the Security Council on 5 April 2022 called on the Council to reform itself or face dissolution.
